In the service Downloads,
documents and/or files created externally (for example: Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) can be uploaded. For each uploaded file a short description
text can be written.
A new version of a download fact can contain a newly uploaded external file, or just have its description text changed. When you want to save web space, you could delete the files that are attached to old fact versions.
