Introduction

Welcome to the platform for Users of factline Community Server.
In the following, functionalities and handling of factline Community Server (FCS) will be explained.
Additional information can be found in boxes with green background colour (info).
Potential problems and how to solve them will be explained in boxes with light pink background colour (problem).
To begin, we recommend that you take time to learn about the Functional Hierarchy of the FCS platforms.

However, you may also jump right into the user manual. A brief overview of the most important chapters is given below.

All factline platforms are based on the factline Community Server. Irrespective of the platform type (client, project or knowledge platform) and the amount of enabled services, all platforms are characterised by the following:
* Each published item of information (text, image, file, news, etc.) has a unique "owner", a date and a unique identifier: the infoID. (-> Create Information).
* One-Click-Edit function: One click and you switch from view mode to edit mode
(-> Update Information).
* The author defines who should be allowed to read and/or to edit the information. Users can only see information if they have read or write permission. (-> Permissioning System)
* Administration: To make managing user authorisation easier, permissions are assigned to user groups (-> Group Function).
For quick help, consult the (-> Index)

You can also download the extensive print-version of our online manual. This also contains, among other things, numerous HTML tips and tricks. (-> English User Manual)
