Web-based
knowledge work is gaining ground. According to the authors, the
actual potential of the Internet has been used rather poorly so far.
The main reason is the uncertainty of whether and how long
information will be available on the Internet. This problem is
getting the more urgent the more intensive the Internet is being used
for collaboration. The following article deals with this problem and
suggests, as a solution, a concept for assigning guarantees of
existence (GOEs).
