You can delete your own forum messages as long as no answer has been posted (published).

Users who have modify permissions for a forum can delete the forum messages from any user provided there is no answer to the message. This means that complete forum threads can be deleted starting from the most current. Each entry needs to be deleted step by step.

A faster and less complicated alternative is to hide individual messages or complete discussion threads. In order to do so, click on the red "hide"-link next to the title of the entry in the overview list.
